Amazon Prime’s Like a Dragon: Yakuza Receives Debut Trailer, Premiering October 24

There has been a noticeable improvement in the quality of film and television adaptations of video games lately, and Sega, alongside Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, is eager to see their franchise Yakuza, also known as Like a Dragon, join these successful titles. Earlier in the year, it was announced that Amazon Prime would release a series entitled Like a Dragon: Yakuza, set to debut in October.

The initial trailer has just been unveiled. It provides viewers with a glimpse of Ryoma Takeuchi as the iconic Kazuma Kiryu, alongside a portrayal of the bustling Kamurocho district and other intriguing visuals. According to the trailer’s description on YouTube, this series will present a fresh narrative not seen in previous Yakuza or Like a Dragon entry.

The description elaborates on the storyline, highlighting the intense lives of passionate gangsters and the various people navigating the expansive entertainment district of Kamurocho. This fictional area is inspired by the notorious Kabukichō in the Shinjuku ward. The series is set to reveal the modern landscape of Japan and delve into compelling stories centering on dynamic characters, such as the legendary Kazuma Kiryu, whom players have yet to fully understand in previous games.

Mark your calendars for October 24, when Like a Dragon: Yakuza premieres on Amazon Prime. The series will feature six episodes, with the first three available for viewing simultaneously. In addition, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is anticipated to announce its next game during the Tokyo Game Show this September.
